While Microsoft has made design updates over time, the core functionality has stayed consistent. The good news is that Microsoft has confirmed support for Outlook Classic until at least 2029 – so if you prefer it, you can keep using it with confidence.

• Business add-ins – Many third-party Outlook add-ins only work in the Classic version.

• Offline access – Outlook Classic allows access to email going back further than 30 days, even without an internet connection.

• Familiarity – For many users, it’s simply the version they know best.

What is the New Outlook?

The New Outlook is essentially a redesigned application that closely mirrors Outlook on the web. It offers a fresher interface, more modern features, and greater consistency with Outlook on mobile and tablet devices.

Why switch to the New Outlook?

• Less local storage needed – No more large OST or PST files filling up your computer.
